A pool fence is the one fence where the rules really matter. Rahway Fence Company installs pool fences and gates for homes across Union and Middlesex Counties, planned around your town's code from the first visit.
Abel and his team have more than 20 years of fence installation experience. Your estimate is free and on site.
Requirements vary by town and by pool type. See our New Jersey fence permit guide, and we confirm the rules for your property during the estimate.
| Material | Why homeowners choose it |
|---|---|
| Aluminum | Rust-resistant near water, easy to see through, low maintenance, classic look. |
| Vinyl | Privacy around the pool, easy to clean, no painting. |
| Steel | Very strong and secure. |
| Wood | Natural look that blends with the yard. |
The gate is where most pool fences fail inspection. We install gates with the right hardware so they close and latch on their own, and we set them up so they can be locked.
"Abel and his team were amazing to work with. He was knowledgeable about styles that would work well with our outdoor space and was very responsive, kept the project on time and left my backyard spotless."

New Jersey's construction code calls for a pool barrier at least 4 feet high, and many towns repeat this in their own code. Rahway, Woodbridge and Carteret all require at least 4 feet.
Pool gates should be self-closing and self-latching, and several towns, such as Carteret, spell this out. Rahway and Woodbridge require gates that can be locked.
Aluminum is the most common choice because it is rust-resistant, easy to see through and hard to climb. Vinyl is a good choice when you also want privacy.
In most towns, yes. Pool barriers are regulated by the construction code, and towns such as Edison list pool barriers in their permit fee schedule. We check the rules for your town during the estimate.
Sometimes. It must meet the height and gate requirements and enclose the pool completely. We can inspect your current fence and tell you what needs to change.
